Millionaire Opportunities (Residual Income #2)

Now we know that we need to have a residual income to achieve what we want (I might be moving into a houseboat, but more on that later). So what do we do to get that?

The economist Paul Zane Pilzer says that there will be 10 million new millionaires this century. Wait! Why would we listen to him? Well he has served as an economic adviser to two US Presidents, the is renowned as a leading predictor of economic catalysts and trends, including predicting that China will be a leader in world economics before anyone else was even paying attention to China. Pilzer has started several entrepreneurial businesses earning his first $1million before age 26 and his first $10 million before age 30. So I say we need to listen to him.

Where are these millionaires going to come from? He says that the 20th century will be the age of the entrepreneur and here is where it will come from:

  • Internet/Technology
  • Product Distribution
  • Home Based Business
  • Health Industry
  • Information
  • Franchise Based System

If you can develop a system that will tap into one of these, you might be successful. If you can find a way to tap into two, your chances increase. If you can find a way to tap into many of these then you are almost guaranteed success.

  • Home Based Business – That is clearly what I am interested in, and it will get the lifestyle that I want to have.
  • Information Products – are obviously the easiest to do. Find something that you are passionate about, and you like, and write a “how to” book about it.
  • Internet/Technology – there is so much out there you just have to find what fits best and leverage it to your advantage. There are so many products you just have to ask and you can find what you need.
  • Health Industry – Organic foods, vitamins, proactive health, baby boomer longevity, and so much more. Look at the trends they are all around and obvious, people are trying to take better care of themselves, if you can find a product that you can sell or repackage, market, and sell at the right price, that may be what you need.
  • Product Distribution – let people find what they want off of your site, and create a good way of delivering it to them and you will have it made. How, well it is what I know the least of. If you find a great way let me know. I have dabbled in this, but it just did not work out for me.
  • Franchise Based System – Find a great way to do something, then find a way to teach it so that others can duplicate it. Sounds simple but you need a good system that is very hard to fail at. Hummmm teacher/coach, Coach Kip. Hummmmm.

So lets develop together. There is more than enough to go around. Lets find a way that we can all profit and be successful.

Challenge Update

I have been working on driving traffic to my sites, and I have found a great tool for doing so. StumbleUpon. I know that it is not new and probably most of you have used it in the past, but so far Stumble has so far exceeded anything else I have tried that it is clearly the best.

Every time I submit an article I get a jump of at least 100 hits. When you are only talking 5-20 hits a day depending on my sites that is a significant jump.

I have started taking bids for the redesign of EZ Playbook. We have decided to hire someone to do what we really want to do. If you happen to come across this and are an internet programmer and designer feel free to send us an email at coachkip@ezplaybook.com

It has been another long week, but I am taking Friday off (this will post Saturday like usual but I am actually writing it on Friday). Taking the day off because we don’t have a game is really nice. It is kind of like a preview to how my life will be soon. It makes me energetic, alive, happy, and excited. I love doing what I want to do, waking when I want to wake, being who I want to be.

So here we go. The stats to now

9/9/2007 Begin $0.00
9/22/2007 Previous $62.61
9/29/2007 Gross $193.83
9/29/2007 Expenses ($112.96)
9/29/2007 Net $143.48

Another profit. Great! Can’t have those days that I lose money. It is going slow, but I feel the momentum building. It will take a while but it will come.

Most of the money this week has been earned through affiliate marketing. I am going to take a lot of time today and tomorrow to find some good affiliates. It will help my income tremendously. I surely have not found the answer yet but I am getting there.

I am also working on a few ebooks and email newsletters. This will help with the income too.

Residual Income

Published by Coach Kip under Achieve It, Success

What is the best business for me, or any internet entrepreneur to get into? ANYTHING THAT HAS RESIDUAL INCOME!

Yes I yelled that, and yes I feel that strongly about it. Maybe that was a little coach coming out in me, but sometimes it just needs to be said with authority.

What is residual income?

  • Residual Income is income that continues to flow without having to do any more work. Or as it has been shortened: Do the work once and get paid over and over again.

It is said over and over on the Internet that the first step in becoming successful on the web is finding something you are passionate about.
True.
The next step is determining if there is a need for it.
Mostly True.
The next step is reducing your audience until you find the niche that you are good at. The narrower the niche, with enough interest the better chance you have at succeeding.
Kind of True.

You can go around the web and find all kinds of articles that will help you find the right niche and the right products to make your site, your online store, or however you plan on making money on the Internet.

So you are a success, you have found a niche and you are starting to sell a few things on the Internet. There are many ways that get you to this point. What is the benefit to this?

Maybe not working for the man in benefit enough. I think that having a job that you work for someone else, and having a job that is your own is the same thing. The key is to have a system in which you do the job once and you get paid over and over.

In Robert Kiyosaki’s book Cashflow Quadrant he explains the difference between owning a business, and working in your own business. Many business owners are the owner and worker within their business. A business owner simply owns the business and all the work is done by others.

The Internet and the supporting businesses that are around the Internet are set up perfectly to have a residual income. There are many many automated shopping cart systems; there are fulfillment companies that will automatically ship goods out as people purchase them off of your site; you can even hire a virtual assistant to reply to your customer service emails.  Go the the 4 Hour Work Week for more information on outsourcing.

The point is if you are going to be making money off of the Internet, don’t work to make that money. Do your best to set it up so that everything is automated and you are not a piece of the puzzle. You just stand on the side and watch as someone else puts the puzzle together. Every once and a while you have to give a little nudge to get the right pieces in place, but other than that you can concentrate on the things that you really love like playing video games, or sitting on the couch eating chips, our watching FOOTBALL!!

Conceive It, Believe It, Achieve It.

Challenge Update

Published by Coach Kip under The Challenge

So here I am sitting by the pool (sorry no camera with me, I am working on it) building a business. I love the south. It ma be a little surprising for my friends and family to hear this, but it is true. It is September 23 and over 90 degrees. I still consider myself as a scientist, but global warming does not really bother me. I think that the weather is great.

Another busy week, but what is not?

    • We finally had another full week of school, 6 weeks in and we have had only two full weeks.
    • Our football team finally won its first game. Hopefully that will bring us some momentum
    • EZ Playbook is getting some traffic on its blogs. We are getting better at getting our message across.

      Here are our current stats:

      9/9/2007 Begin $0.00
      9/14/2007 Previous $109.21
      9/22/2007 Gross $81.31
      9/22/2007 Expenses $-127.91
      9/22/2007 Net $62.61

A little down. I am surprised that I still earned $109 but it cost a little more to get that. I will have to figure out what happened to cause this.

      Live Like a Millionaire

Published by Coach Kip under Achieve It, Believe It

“It is not necessary to work like a slave to live like a millionaire.”

I have been running in to all these quotes that are very appropriate for me. I especially like this one. In my Challenge I have decided to make $10,000 by the end of the year. Why that? Because it was a nice round number, and because it would prove to me that I can have an income.

The income is the key. To live like a millionaire I think is a bit of a misconception. Think of yourself lying on a beach on a Tuesday morning. Would a millionaire be able to do this? In most of our realities we would say yes. But if you know any millionaires you know that very few of them can actually do this. Most are working like dogs to maintain their income level.

Now instead of having a millionaire’s income, we had our conception of a millionaire’s time. In other words what if we had a steady passive income and were able to use our time the way we wanted to. That is the true definition of the Challenge.

The Challenge is to build a steady passive income that would release me from my job requirements and put me in a position to become a stay at home dad, a beach and ski bum, a full time golfer, a most of the time coach, and give me time to help others achieve this lifestyle.

Just over the internet I have found a few potential ways to make money passively.

      1) Affiliate Marketing – Using Clickbank, Text Link Ads, or Commission Junction a person can find products to promote and market and get a small portion of the income generated, usually between 40% and 75% depending on the product.2) Informational Product Creation – Probably the best way to create an income if you have the writing skills and time to produce something useful. If it is good enough you can find others to market it for you (affiliate marketing) and you don’t have to spend a dime in product advertising.3) Blogging – Obviously I would love to have income from this blog, but that is not my true purpose. The purpose is to have a journal, to learn to write, and to share my journey with others. If you are a good writer and have just a few minuets to write, and a lot of time to market correctly you can make an income blogging. Once the traffic rolls in, you can begin to charge advertisers per view instead of per click and your income will begin to increase greatly.4) Create the next big thing – The big money of course is in massive population appeal with a website. Facebook reportedly turned down 1 billion by Yahoo. Many other sites have been bought for millions of dollars and it is barely reported. There is person after person who has made billions from the sales of sites, and they just keep on going. If you have an idea run with it, you never know you may just be the next big thing.I know that there are many more out there, but those are the ones that I am interested in learning about. I am not a marketer, I am not a writer, I am just a coach trying to live like a millionaire.Conceive It, Believe It, Achieve It

My Web 2.0 Sites are Working

Published by Coach Kip under Marketing, Process

I posted my article about my Web 2.0 sites and signed up for those sites that I have listed at 5 pm on Sunday night.  It is now 11 am on Monday morning.  I am excited!

In 18 hours, most of which were in the middle of the night and early morning the results are coming in.  So far it looks like this

      From Statcounter:

        Referring Link
      drill down 3 www.technorati.com/posts/tag/spigit
      drill down 2 www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=coach%2C kip
      drill down 1 reddit.com/?offset=864
      drill down 1 reddit.com/?offset=356
drill down 1 No referring link
      drill down 1 reddit.com/?ref=G728×90B&offset=888
      drill down 1 www.stumbleupon.com/refer.php?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.coachkip.net%2F

I have 3 links from technorati, 3 from reddit and 1 from stumble.  I think that is great.

From Google Analytics it looks like this

Source/Medium Visits Pages/Visit Avg. Time on Site % New Visits Bounce Rate
      2.

      reddit.com / referral

      9 3.11 00:08:04 55.56% 66.67%
      4.

      au.mg1.mail.yahoo.com / referral

      1 1.00 00:00:00 100.00% 100.00%
      6.

      technorati.com / referral

      1 1.00 00:00:00 100.00% 100.00%

Now look at the stats.  92 from StumbleUpon, 9 from Reddit, and 1 from Technorati.

I have always used statcounter to keep track of my stats.  I guess I just have never had enough traffic to have to use Google Analytics.  I have heard that Google is as good as it gets, and I guess it is.  I still think that statcounter is useful and will continue to use it, it is also free, just look to the side bar and there is a button link to it.

And for those of you who have read my past articles, yes I am still teaching.  I am writing this on my lunch break.  Don’t worry your kids are still getting the best education that government money can buy.

That’s all I have time for, I will check again tonight and give a more detailed analysis while the game is on.

      Thanks for stopping by!

      A great article

I just found this great article on Warren Buffett. He is an excellent example of someone who just decided what he was going to be, he did everything on his own, and he never listened to convention. A great example of a successful American.

      Challenge Update

Published by Coach Kip under The Challenge

This is going to be a lot harder than I thought. It is already 5 days into The Challenge and I have only updated this blog once.

Here is how the week has gone.

      • Monday – Regular day, very tired, watched half of the Monday Night game and fell asleep.
      • Tuesday – Patriot Day. No students today, practice at 2:00, and had to have an in-service that lasted all morning (7:30-11:30) Total waste of time. I am usually quite positive about these things but it just went on too long.
      • Wednesday – Advisory Day – Great program here at our school. Instead of doing a home room we are having an advisory period where every teacher takes a class and basically has a question and answer time where we can talk about jobs, careers, school, and whatever else. The problem is that every time we have a different schedule the kids are crazy. Football was late today, I had to wait for a player to get picked up. Made post to www.EZPlaybook.com
      • Thursday – Pep Assembly day – Again different schedule and the kids are nuts. Pep Rallies are great, crazy kids are not. Stayed and watched the Freshman Football Game, they won! Began updates to some sites.
      • Friday – Gameday! Yes it is one word to me. Also quiz day so I get to multitask. I checked the stats this morning after turning in my grades and I have had a pretty good week so far. Here are the stats as they stand today.

      9/9/2007

      Begin

      $0.00

      9/14/2007

      Gross

      $268.42

      9/14/2007

      Expenses

      ($159.21)

      9/14/2007

      Net

      $109.21

So we are beginning to get some income, not enough, but we are getting there.

Most of the expenses have gone to my partner and some PayPal fees. The income is nice, 109 for the week, but very unexpected. I do not expect that to continue.

      Dream the Good Dream

So when was it that we stopped dreaming?  So when was it not cool to be who you wanted to be?  What happened to this country that we became a nation of worker bees?  Did we not start as dreamers?  Was it not enough to have a small piece of land and a modest house?  What happened?

Nothing!  It is all right there for you.  You just need to let that kid come out again and dream.  No one wanted a house payment and a car payment as a kid.  No one dreamed of working just to pay bills.

We dreamed of going to the moon, and seeing lions up close.  We dreamed of becoming a pro athlete, a football star, a hero.  Yes a hero.

Who can you be a hero to?  Who can look into your eyes with admiration and belief?  When you attack your dreams with the passion of a school age child you become that dream.  When you live your life according to who you are you become that hero.

Don’t be afraid to dream.  Don’t be afraid to chase your dreams today.  It is ok.  It is actually the right thing to do to live.  Live life, have fun, be a dreamer, and attack those dreams with enthusiasm and never ending belief.  You can have what you want!  You can do what you want!  It is just up to you to start doing so, to believe, and to achieve
